A gentle antidote to stressful connections

During the holidays, connections with others can be challenging, and the holidays can bring up stress or act as a trigger. For others, this time comes with loneliness and pain over lost or hurt relationships. The practice of Metta, also called Lovingkindness, is a soothing, gentle antidote. In short, it is the practice of developing feelings of friendliness toward self and others, countering stressful or unpleasant feelings of anger, pain, or sadness. Check out this lovely description of the practice and its benefits. And here is a guided Metta meditation.
